What to check before buying a dovetail mount

First, verify your pistol’s dovetail type. Mounts are model-specific, so correct fit is essential for a secure and aligned optic installation.

Attention: dovetail cuts can vary even within the same brand

Some pistols from the same manufacturer may have different dovetail sizes depending on production series or model variations.

Make sure you confirm the dovetail size and compatibility before purchasing a mount.

Does your pistol have Optics Ready cut?

If you have an Optics Ready model, then you need to look for one of the optics ready plate. Those will allow you to install a red dot to the slide of your gun without replacing the rear sight in the dovetail cut.
