Sights for HK models

HK's duty and competition pistols split into two sight-compatible families: the VP9, SFP9, VP40 and P30 share one dovetail, factory or Optics Ready (OR) versions alike needing separate sight heights; the HK45, USP and P8 form a second, older family with their own shared cut. Picking a sight from the wrong family will not seat in the dovetail even though the guns look related.

VP9/SFP9 family vs USP/HK45/P8 family

The VP9 and SFP9 - HK's striker-fired duty and competition line - share sights with the compact VP40 and the P30. Their Optics Ready (OR) versions take taller, co-witness-height sights instead of the standard set. Separately, the hammer-fired USP, HK45 and P8 share their own sight system, unrelated to the VP9/SFP9 dovetail.
