Sights for 1911 models

A 1911 is not one sight fitment - it is at least four. Because the 1911 pattern has been produced by dozens of manufacturers for over a century, no single dovetail became standard; instead, several sight cuts became industry-recognised standards in their own right, each used across multiple brands. Fitment for a 1911 is decided by which cut your slide was machined to, not by the maker's name on the slide.

The four cuts we stock

• Novak cut - the most widely adopted 1911 sight standard, used across Colt Combat, Competition, Delta, Series 80 and XSE, and by Sig Sauer's 1911 .22 LR.
• LPA cut - a second common European-pattern dovetail, used on selected Colt and other 1911-pattern slides.
• Kimber cut - Kimber's own factory pattern, not interchangeable with Novak or LPA.
• BoMar cut - a fully adjustable rear sight standard favoured for bullseye and precision 1911 competition.
