This collection contains binoculars for hunting, observation and shooting. The current model is the Vector Optics Continental Plus 10x42 ED.
What the numbers mean
In "10x42", the binoculars magnify 10 times. The objective lenses have a diameter of 42 mm. Dividing 42 by 10 gives the exit pupil of 4.2 mm. A larger exit pupil gives a brighter image at dusk. 10x42 is a common size for hunting: it gives detail at distance and stays easy to hold steady.
Ranging reticle
The Continental Plus 10x42 ED has a MIL ranging reticle. You can use it to judge both the height of a target and the distance to it. You rotate the reticle in the field of view by turning the left eyecup.

-
ED glass: extra-low dispersion glass reduces color fringes and gives a sharper image.

-
Field of view: 7°.

Close focus: 2.5 m.
Build
The housing has non-slip rubber armor and is waterproof to IPX7. The right eyepiece has a diopter adjustment from -4 to +4, so you can set it for your eyes.

Frequently asked questions
Is 10x magnification too much to hold steady?
For most people, 10x is the highest magnification that still works well without a tripod. For longer observation, a support helps.
Can I use the binoculars with glasses?
The eye relief is 12.2 mm. Check if this is enough for your glasses.
