A carry gun spends most of its life not being looked at, so its sights need to work the one time it matters without warning - tritium keeps a visible sight picture at night, and a serrated, glare-free rear keeps the front post the only thing drawing the eye in daylight.

White dots or a plain blacked-out, serrated rear give two different aiming pictures: three dots (or a bar and a dot) line up fast for quick target transitions, while a glare-free black rear draws the eye to the front post alone, which precision and bullseye shooters tend to prefer.

Tritium is the practical default if this gun is carried or kept for defense, since it holds a visible sight picture at night with nothing to charge or maintain. Fiber optic is faster to find in daylight but goes dark with the lights off, which matters less on a range gun and more on one that might be needed after dark.
